Hey guys!! 👋🏼 IK this is kinda weird that the Sideline Scoop is coming as a blog instead of an IG Reel, but I physically cannot talk about this Thursday’s game!! So instead, I figured I would write about it because there is A LOT to cover. So without further ado… get ready, because we’re getting into the details. 👀
The Final Score… 😬
The final score was 28–3, Lake Nona over Edgewater. And I already know what y’all are thinking: “I can’t believe y’all only scored 3 points.” Well… technically, we scored more than that. We had three touchdowns called back, along with 200+ yards in BS penalties. Meanwhile, Lake Nona had 40 penalty yards. Obviously, I’m not the one making the calls, but let’s just say… the home-field advantage was definitely being felt.
There’s also an eligibility situation involving several Lake Nona players that is reportedly being investigated, so there is a possibility that the outcome of the game could be affected. Nothing is official yet, though, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Basically… stay tuned.
What Went Wrong?
Now, I’ll be completely honest — we did not look our best in this game. Our O-line struggled pretty badly, and Cruz barely had time to throw. He also wasn’t really able to get anything going on the ground, and neither was our backup QB. And when you have three D1 running backs who normally make things happen, but nobody can really get going, you know something is off. Our offensive play calling also felt a little questionable at times, so there are definitely things that need to be fixed going forward.
That being said, I genuinely believe this game could have looked VERY different with a different officiating situation. Between the penalties and the touchdowns being called back, there were a lot of frustrating moments on the sidelines. But at the end of the day, you have to play the game you’re given, and there’s definitely room for improvement before next week.
The Hospital Visit Nobody Asked For 🏥
Unfortunately, one of our best players was injured during the game, which turned what was already a frustrating night into an even more stressful one. Let’s just say… our night ended with a very unproductive hospital visit. 😭
Thankfully, he’s okay considering everything, which is obviously the most important thing. We’re not sure yet when he’ll be back playing, but hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. ❤️
GAME DAY FIT CHECK ❤️🖤
Okay, enough football stress. Let’s talk about the important stuff…
After approximately a million trips to the mall trying to figure out what I was going to wear, I FINALLY found the perfect game-day fit. I wore a black jumpsuit with gold details from Guess, paired with a red halter sports bra from Suuksess underneath. For shoes, I went with my black wedge sneakers from Steve Madden, and obviously finished it off with my favorite black bag from Urban Outfitters. Honestly, I was very happy with this one. 😂
The black + red + gold combo felt perfect for a night game, and I’m always here for an outfit that looks cute but still lets me actually survive an entire football game on the sidelines.
And honestly, that’s about all I’ve got for this game. Was it our best performance? Absolutely not. Was it frustrating? VERY. Am I still going to show up next week and act like we’re about to win the whole thing? Obviously. Next week we play Jones, and based on how things have been going, we’ll probably lose again… BUT you never know. Maybe a miracle will happen. ✨
Football is unpredictable, so I’ll be back on the sidelines next week regardless.
