Five outfits. Zero filter. Here’s exactly what’s staying in my closet — and what’s not.
REVIEWS BY AUSTYN RYLI
Okay, real talk — not everything I try on is a winner. Between brand collabs, online hauls, and my own impulse buys, my closet has seen it all lately. So I’m doing something a little different today: I’m walking you through five recent fits with completely honest reviews. Keep your notes app open because some of these are actually so good, and some… we need to talk about.
✓ KEEP ➜ The Denim Dress That Goes With Everything
PEPPERMAYO ⟡ COLLAB / GIFTED
I’m going to be honest — when this arrived, I was a little nervous it would be too simple. But the second I put it on, I got it. This button-front denim mini is just one of those pieces.
The fit is structured without being stiff, the dark wash is so clean, and the white buttons are the cutest detail. I styled it here with my grey suede wedged sneakers, but I’ve already worn it with white heels, with a little cardigan layered over it, and barefoot at golden hour for content — it just works every single time.
A true staple. If I could only keep one piece from this whole haul, it might be this one.
Sizing note: I’m wearing a size 0. It fits true to size with just enough room to move. Would definitely recommend sizing up if you want a more relaxed look.
✓ KEEP ➜ The Beach Matching Set I Didn’t Know I Needed
AERIE ⟡ PERSONAL BUY
I am such a sucker for a matching set, and this one from Aerie completely earned its place in my rotation. The snakeskin print in these pale, creamy tones is giving everything — elevated beach, coastal editorial, sunset content — all of it.
The wide-leg pants have this gorgeous flowy fabric that moves so beautifully in the breeze, and the swimsuit top fit is just right. Not too tiny, not too covered. Perfect.
The color palette alone. Pale cream + Pink snake print? My heart.
This is officially my go-to Florida beach fit. Whether I’m doing content at the coast or just living my best life on a Saturday — this set is coming with me. 10/10, no notes.
↩ HAUL➜ The Purple Set That Almost Made It
EASEFIT ⟡ COLLAB / GIFTED
Okay, I really wanted to love this one — and honestly? The quality is there. The fabric feels premium, the deep plum color is stunning, and the sports bra fits beautifully. I was so excited when this arrived.
But here’s my honest truth: the Resistance bands in these leggings just do not work for me. They create this uncomfortable pressure that I couldn’t get past, no matter how I adjusted. And when you’re wearing activewear, comfort is literally the whole point. Totally get the concept of sneaking in a workout while you live your life, but for me personally, this just wasn’t it!
Love the color, love the quality — but comfort comes first for me, always.
This is genuinely not a quality issue with EaseFit — the construction is great. It’s just a fit preference thing, and I’d rather be honest with you than pretend I’m going to actually wear something. If the resistance band style doesn’t bother you, the color and quality alone might make it worth it for you. But for me, it’s a haul.
✓ KEEP ➜ My Favorite Camp Fit (And Yes, I’m Biased)
LULULEMON + VUORI ⟡ PERSONAL BUYS
Camp season is officially over, but this outfit? Top tier. I wore this to UNT, and it was one of those fits where I felt completely put together without even trying — which is exactly what you need when you’re running between football facilities all day.
The orange Lululemon zip jacket and matching tank in this color are so good for summer. It’s bright without being overwhelming, and the fitted silhouette of the jacket is so flattering. I’ve been reaching for this color combo constantly.
Pairing this with my Vuori wide-leg track pants? Truly one of my favorites.
The Vuori black wide-leg track pants are my absolute go-to for camp days. They’re comfortable enough to move freely in but elevated enough to not look like you rolled out of bed. This combo is genuinely unmatched for a football visit fit — and yes, I’ll be wearing some version of this all season.
↩ HAUL ➜ The Red Pants That Got Away
MOOSLOVER ⟡ COLLAB / GIFTED
I really, truly wanted to keep these. The red color is everything — so bold, so fun, and it pairs perfectly with my Nike Cortez sneakers (which, side note, are one of my favorite buys lately). The vibe of this whole outfit is giving exactly what I want to give.
But here’s the thing: these are the smallest size available, and they were still too big on me. That’s not a me problem — that’s a sizing issue, and it’s a real disappointment because otherwise I would have been obsessed with these.
The color is genuinely perfect. If they ran true to size, these would be a permanent fixture in my closet.
If you’re between sizes or on the larger end of small, these might actually fit you perfectly — the fit and color are so good. But for me, I couldn’t make it work, and overly baggy is not the vibe I was going for here. With a heavy heart, these are going to Goodwill.
The Final Verdict
PEPPERMAYO · Button-Front Denim Dress = ✓ KEEP
AERIE · Snakeskin Beach Set = ✓ KEEP
EASEFIT · Purple Activewear Set = ↩ HAUL
LULULEMON + VUORI · Orange Camp Fit = ✓ KEEP
MOOSLOVER · Red Wide-Leg Pants = ↩ HAUL
Okay, so there you have it — three keeps, two hauls, and a whole lot of honesty. I think it’s so important to actually tell you guys when something doesn’t work, especially when it’s from a brand collab. You deserve real reviews, not just pretty photos. The denim dress and the camp fit are genuinely going to be on repeat all summer. And if you’ve tried the Mooslover pants and had a different sizing experience, drop it in the comments — I’m curious! Shop everything (linked or not) on my ShopMy and Amazon Storefront. As always, I only link things I’d actually wear — or in this case, almost wore lol.
XO, Austyn
